Three projects from my design coursework at Northwestern: a physical product, a UX interface, and a brand campaign.
Product Designer · Spring 2018
A travel-friendly kosher cooking utensil set, designed over ten weeks with Chicago's Orthodox Jewish community. My role covered rapid prototyping and sketching, phone interviews and home visits, survey analysis, and managing the team's workstreams.
How might we make traveling easier for people who keep Kosher? Designated drawers and sinks make separating meat and dairy kitchenware straightforward at home. The uncertainty and inconsistency of rental kitchens makes doing the same while traveling far harder.
Photos from home visits with Orthodox Jewish families in the Chicago area.
We observed kosher kitchens on Northwestern's campus, visited homes and interviewed Chicagoland Orthodox Jewish families, conducted phone interviews with rabbis and other community members, and surveyed more than 200 congregants across local synagogues.
Design goals: lightweight and TSA-friendly for travel; an intuitive, color-coded handle-head joint; nonporous, kitchen-safe materials; and structural integrity under boiling water for Kashrut.
From initial concept sketches to final design.
The final design features a color-coded universal handle that attaches to interchangeable utensil heads with a magnetic snap-in joint — more compact to pack, with lightweight kitchen-safe material that keeps added baggage weight to a minimum.
Design Thinker · Winter 2018
An interactive physical-therapy aid built with the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, turning raw EMG sensor data into a real-time, gamified interface that helped stroke survivors and their therapists track progress mid-session.
Graphic Designer · Fall 2018
Brand strategy and campus marketing for a local Vietnamese restaurant's delivery launch. Flyer design and promotional merchandise, done as part of a student-run marketing agency.
I'm looking for full-time opportunities after HBS, and internships along the way. If something seems like a fit, I'd love to hear from you.
